Brendan Clark is one of the most experienced and respected physiotherapists on the Central Coast. Brendan joined Aspire in 2017 and has helped many thousands of patients over his career of over 35 years. Brendan’s early days after graduating from Sydney University in 1988 (when Andrew finished primary school and Patrick had his second birthday!) were spent in a variety of interesting settings, from private practice, public hospitals, private rehabilitation and healthcare centres, in interesting places across Australia, England and Scotland. Brendan opened the doors to his own private practice, Total Physio Centres at Kanwal, in 1994, and started raising the first of his 5 children with wife Lynita. Brendan worked at the Sydney Olympics, completed his Masters of Sports Physiotherapy at Sydney University in 2001 and worked with Wyong Roos rugby league club for many years. Brendan also became fascinated with helping patients suffering from headache and migraine, leading to further study and titling as a Watson Headache® Certified Practitioner in 2014. Brendan is the only physiotherapist on the Central Coast with this level of qualification and regularly receives referrals from doctors, neurologists and other physiotherapists.
Brendan ran his practice for 23 years and has now gone full circle in his career, successfully selling his business in 2017 to free up time, work alongside experienced colleagues again and spend more time with his family and grandkids. This might sound like Brendan is an old bloke, but he is the fittest of all of us by miles and young at heart while regularly undertaking crazy endurance running and cycling events. Brendan is enjoying immersing himself in doing what he loves most and is now specialising in the treatment of running, paddling or cycling pain/injuries/performance enhancement, and neck, shoulder, headache/migraine, TMJ (jaw) pain, vestibular dysfunction (dizziness), persistent/complex pain, fibromyalgia, rheumatological/auto-immune conditions and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Brendan could have chosen to work wherever he wanted and we are privileged that he jumped at the chance to be part of our team. If you have a problem and need caring and thoughtful management to get back to your best, you will be in the best of hands with Brendan.
NOTE: Brendan is also a highly charitable fellow, regularly organising and participating in events to raise funds for those less fortunate. Brendan’s next event is the “Bloody Long Walk” for the Mito Foundation. You can donate to the cause at https://event.bloodylongwalk.com.au/fundraisers/BrendanClark.
Brendan is also a founding organiser of the annual “Ride4Rescue”, which is the ‘Capital2Koszi’, an off-the-beaten-track charity mountain bike ride from Canberra through the remote and scenic Australian High Country, ending at the top of Mount Kosciusko. Covering over 400kms in 5 days, the ride is open to anyone who has a spirit of adventure, with no restriction on age or ability. All you need is a passion and drive to achieve something remarkable, and desire to make the world a better place. This event is an annual fundraiser for RestoreOne (Cambodia) and the ADRA Blossom Project (Vanuatu). For more information about participating, sponsoring or donating, go to https://ride4rescue.org.
